Vista Alegre partnered with Ecoarts Amazônia to create a collection about the Brazilian rainforest, so that the world can see the Amazon through the eyes of those who know it better. The overall collection combines production from three companies: Vista Alegre for porcelain and glass, Bordallo Pinheiro for Faience ceramics, and Casa Alegre for stoneware. Part of the profits from Amazōnia will be donated by the manufacturer to the Amazonian communities, through the planting of fruit trees in cities, rural areas and indigenous villages. The AMAZONIA collection is a look at the Amazon - from "Yesterday", "Today", and "Tomorrow" - from the perspective of those who know the forest closely and act for its preservation. The Amazonia of yesterday is present in the drawings of the XVIII century, realized during the "philosophical trips" of the Brazilian naturalist Alexandre Rodrigues Ferreira for the Amazon, where he collected an important collection today distributed in several museums around the world.
