Lamp Shades

The right lamp shade can change the look of a room and the quality of its lighting. Consider the lamp, the shade's dimensions and the style of your space before choosing.

Choose the Right Shape

Drum shades offer a clean, contemporary look. Bell and empire shades suit more traditional settings, while rectangular and square shades can complement modern lamps and angular furniture.

Measure Before You Buy

Check the shade's top and bottom diameters, height and fitter type. Compare these measurements with your existing shade and lamp so the replacement fits properly and looks balanced.

Match the Shade to Your Lamp

Table lamps, floor lamps, chandeliers and sconces may require different shade shapes and attachment styles. Check the product details carefully, especially for clip-on and replacement shades.

Consider Color and Material

White and light-colored shades often allow more light through, while darker or lined shades can create a more focused effect. Linen, shantung and textured fabrics offer different finishes to complement your decor.
